About

about

My work explores the narrative potential in the subtleties of simple mundane tasks and materials associated with an everyday domestic setting. Over the years, I have examined the archeological aspect of the domestic surroundings, and the histories of the individuals within a specific space and time interval as told by the materials gathered within such a context.

Most recently I have explored the development of individual mythology through memory and ritual. By elevating nostalgic childhood experiences through the distortion of characters and objects tied to these memories, I aim to understand the long-held significance these stories have with regards to my personal identity and their persisting impact on the present. The struggle to identify the self, mediated through complex family dynamics and the lasting influences created by some of the earliest and closest of these interpersonal relationships, has become a crucial part of my work.

I received my BFA in Integrated Media in 2015 from St. Cloud State University, and MFA in Photomedia from the University of Washington in 2017.
